Emotional stability
has a lot to do with your attitude towards life and happiness. An emotionally stable human being wouldn't feel any lack of self-worth, and there is a lesser chance of being jealous, stressed, and falling into depression or heartbreak.
In other words, emotionally stable people can handle pressure better and don't expect anything from others. In fact, they mean what they say. Emotional health can very well be taken care of, maintained and fixed. If you aren't feeling emotionally strong at one point in life, doesn't necessarily mean that you'd continue to tread on the same path. You can change and alter your daily habits to make yourself emotionally stable and enhance your life.
Here are five things that emotionally stable people do differently.
1. Saying 'no' isn't a big deal
Emotionally stable people know how to say no and they wouldn't ever over-commit or make false promises to people, just because they couldn't say no.
People usually take advantage of people, who can't say no to others, and at the end of the day, these people start doing favours for other people that they'd never be repaid for.
Calm and assertive people don't feel bad for saying no when they are reasonable but people who aren't emotionally stable will always have doubts before doing so.
2. They practice the power of listening
If you're easily offended by feedback, you aren't really willing to move forward or learn anything from your present situation. On the contrary, if you are not sulking after getting a feedback or someone's advice, you're good to go.
Some people want to know your part, even if they don't agree to it and that's how emotionally stable people move ahead in life.
3. Selective inner circle
The kind of people you hang out with, tells a lot about you as your friends and your inner circle has an impact on you. Emotionally sound people will never let bad influence shape them and hence, would keep their inner circle small.
Negativity can severely influence one's emotional health as a stable individual wouldn't want toxic people around them. If you have someone who has a negative impact on you, maybe it's time to get rid of such people.
4. Asking for help isn't an issue
Asking for help doesn't make you a failure. People with a sound mental health do understand that. We are humans and we need support and help from time to time. If you are going through a rough patch in life, it is okay to ask for help. You can always reach out to your family and close friends, who you think can help you.
You can't do it all alone and all you need is a little support from people and you shouldn't shy away from asking it.
5. Self love and embracing flaws
No one is perfect and we can't expect ourselves to be flawless and hence, it is important to love your flaws, acknowledge them and face it. You are not a robot and you cannot do everything perfectly even if you try hard.
So, we need to acknowledge our flaws and embrace them as that's how we move a step ahead in loving ourselves.
It is pertinent to accept and take life as it comes and not make your problems the basis of how you shape yourself.
